![]() ![]() 2008PayPal pageIn Jan 07 I did germination tests on 50+ batches of
tomato seeds that I collected from the plants I grew this year. I have
over 40 seed batches that
have done very well, roughly 80+% germination. I managed to save from
1/3 oz. to several ounces of the seeds I will list. The summer of 07
was a terrible tomato year for us. The weather was the worst of all
conditions. First drought, then flooding rain. I wasn't able to get any
decent seed saved from this years planting.
Any seed name that has MOS behind it means that I have My Own Seed available. I will put the buy buttons for that seed on the individul variety pages as I have the time. For right now, I'm just making up a list of what I have. To use Google CheckoutWe grow tomato plants for selling as transplants at farmer's markets. We also field plant many of our plants for picked tomatoes and pick your own. We grow about 100 varieties. 2003 was the first year I saved quite a bit of tomato seed, but most of what I'm offering is seed that I purchase for my own farm and is what we grow ourselves. In 2006 I did save quite a bit of tomato seed that is on offered as My Own Seed (MOS). I do have a few varieties that I've saved that are no longer offered by seed companies anywhere. I have this site in part for something to do in the winter, but largely because I like to try new varieties of seed. If I buy a larger package size, I get a better price and I also have enough to sell the excess that I don't need for the farm. That way I'm able to afford to try more new varieties. All seeds are in small zip-lock bags and shipped in bubble padded mailers. Packets contain about twice what's in store packs and are weighed to 0.1 gm (about 25-40 seeds). As I work on the 2007 page, I will be adding some mini packs to the collections area. The sample mini packs will be packs of about 10-15 seeds / variety. They are all $2.50 per packet. The collections give you a 10- 20%+ price break and for some, free shipping. I would be happy to talk with you about varieties or other garden things. I am unable to take an order by phone tho, as I do not have a personal merchant account to do credit cards. PayPal or preferably Google Checkout are the only ways I can do Credit cards. Click the names for more info and a pic. Some of the pages for each variety are now up. The variety pages have been temporarily taken down until I can get them changed over to Mal's Cart. I now have a page for the MOS seed list and prices. If you order multiple packs of the same seed, I usually put it all in 1 pack with a number to indicate that it's a multiple. This page is now set-up with Mal's Cart for use with PayPal. But I would prefer if you use Google if you can. I give you a bit of a better price on shipping and on some of the seeds with the Google Checkout. If you look at a variety description page, use your "back button to get back to the PayPal pages as the links on the description pages are to the Google pages. This is the PayPal page. For Google Checkout click here. I have had people ask me how I can save seed from hybrid seed varieties. So I put up an info page explaining it all here. I have quotes taken from a book by Carol Deppe that explains why many of us believe many hybrid seeds are not really hybrids at all. |
