4th of JulyLuscious tomatoes by the Fourth of
July. Enjoy the plentiful harvest about 49 days after setting
plants in the garden. Indeterminate plants produce fruits that
average 3-4 ounces all season long. Medium small tomatoes, but
lots of them.
My own seed that grows the same as the hybrid. I did actually have a ripe tomato on July 4, 08.
This is my own saved seed and not the F-1. While this variety is not actually discontinued, it is only available from Burpee and they stopped selling in bulk several years ago. I've been growing out this nice early tomato. It doesn't change even tho the original is supposed to be a hybrid. Small but tasty, similar to Matina or Stupice. 4th of July PL - This is a Potato Leaf version of 4th of July. I found a few PL plants growing in my seedlings and separated them out. I've been told this is a PL parent in the 4th of July background. A nice small productive tomato. In my case tho, I think it may have been a bee cross or a tomato from the next variety in the row which was PL. Potato leaf edited 1/18/2021 |
